      SPORTS MEDICINE AND CHIROPRACTIC

Chiropractic has long been a favorite of athletes. A competitor wants to be able to perform at their best always. This is especially true during competitions when everything is on the line. When a person is out of balance they must compensate for the unbalance either by shifting their weight (putting more weight or pressure on another structure), or by changing their gait Dr. Philip Serrins or angulation of the structure supporting that joint. This will take its toll on the athlete, usually producing a new secondary injury. Chiropractic was the first health profession to address this problem in the late 1970's by a Chiropractor in Pasadena CA. You might remember him from some of the late 1970's Sports Illustrated Magazines, his name is Dr. Leroy Perry.

I have always loved working with young as well as older athletes because of their attitude towards not only being healthy, but doing what is necessary to be at there very best at all times. Over the past 14 years I've had the privilege of treating 1000's of athletes from the little leaguer to the soccer player, from the 1984 Women's National Volleyball Team to the 1993&1994 Men's National Soccer Team. The sizes and abilities maybe different but the injuries are basically the same.

The policy in our office is to get the athlete better and back on the field of play as quickly as possible, never forgetting their over all health in the process. Chiropractic adjustments along with Physiotherapy, Exercise, and Nutrition/Diet are essential for being the best in ones sport. We use all of these tools in helping our patients reach their health goals.

Listed below are some of the typical types of injuries we see, if you would like some information on any of them complete our rapid response form below. I hope we can be of help.

      Ankles Hamstrings Elbow
      Knees Quadriceps Wrists
      Hips Groin Neck
